I beg to differ Dario! Sorbas is very big, one of the best kept secrets of the Levante region 8and is mostly not like Tabernas desert!
The municipio of 249 sq kms is more than twice as large as that of Turre and more than four times the size of Vera. To the east, Sorbas limits with Bedar and Turre from Arroyo Morera in the Sierra Cabrera stretching south to pass Gafarillos and Mizala in the foothills down to limit with Carboneras, then to the south-east to Lucainena de las Torres and north to limit with Lubrin and Uleila del Campo. The scenery is very varied and there are many delightful unspoilt small villages and the total population is less than 10 people per sq km! To top it all we're only about 50 kms from Almeria, airport and train and when we're unfortunate enough to need a hospital, we go to Torrecárdenas or the Vitthas Virgen del Mar (private) instead of Huercal Overa. All points for me in it's favour but then you've got to love country living with all its pros & cons.
