Hi everyone,

we are looking to semi retire to Almería and looking for a finca style property, semi rural, but within walking distance to the nearest shops, bars etc.

Does an area like this exist in Almeria .

hope to hear from you soon.

Regards

Chris

If you are wanting shops, chemist, banks and post offices and a country finca by which I take it that you mean a rustic property with land, it may not be very easy to find something that fits the bill.  If you just want a semi-rustic house, you could consider a modern property on the outskirts of a large village or small town. What do you consider as walking distance? You could find something close by if you are prepared to walk up to a kilometer but maybe not all the facilities would be available such a bank or post office and maybe the type of shopping  would be limited.   Public transport is not great by any means in rural areas and neither are pavements or street lighting in some rustic areas.

I think that if you are flexible about your property requirements you could find something to fit the bill in Turre, Los Gallardos, Cuevas de Almanora or Antas wherevyou might find a property within easy walking distance  and none places  are too far from the sea.  It's really up to you to decide if you want to be close to the coast or if you want to be more inland where property will seem better value for what you get but and could mean colder winters, often with frost and sometimes snow, and very hot summers.
