Hiya,
In most places you cannot drink the tap water which leaves you with a variety of options for purchasing water.
1. Buy your water in varying size containers in the local supermarkets making sure you find a good quality bottled water
2. Buy your water from the water men that drive around the local towns in huge tankers (perfectly safe)
3. Install a Deposito (underground or above ground tank) to hold larger amounts of water and have drinking water delivered.
Also you may want to install a deposito purely for mains water anyway because the mains is unreliable here in Spain and will go off sometimes for days at a time depending on location. It is always handy to have an underground reserve of water that will last you for a few days or a week for example then you will never be without. You will need to install a pump in order to suck the water out of the tank and pump it into the house unless you want to gravity feed the water in by installing the tank on a higher part of land. I hope that the above helps. If you want any other questions answered then please ask, happy to help.
