Have a look at http://www.exclusiveairportshuttles.co.uk/ who do shuttles from Alicante Airport to Vera.

Hi, there is a direct bus service runs from Vera to Alicante and return. Not sure of the times but have a look on the ALSA website. You book on line, modern coaches and takes around three and a quarter hours and not silly price either.
