Hi, i am desperatly seeking medical insurance suitable for residency applications for pre exciting conditions. It also needs to be affordable as i am only here on a medical pension. I desperatly want to stay here i love Vera and it makes me feel so well, but without this insurance i wont be able to get residency. Any advice would be greatfully accepted.

We both had pre existing conditions and neither of us had insurance. We still got our residency. Unless the rules have changed very recently that’s why I didn’t understand.

Certainly in Almería you cannot get Residencia without some form of health cover. This is provided in one of three ways;
1. By being a pensioner and obtaining an S1 form from DWP. This effectively “transfers” your health cover from NHS to Spanish Health system
2. By working and paying Autónomo and so getting on Spanish Health system
3. By Private Health cover valid for at least a year.
Without some form of health cover, you will NOT get Residencia

Have you had a word with Maxine at Liberty Seguros, Las Buganvillas? She tells me they are very very competitive.
Also, I believe Santander bank offer a very good health insurance - if I recall it’s called “ASIAS” or similar. Santander in Vera apparently has English speaking staff and I have seen them recommended.
