Thank you everyone for your help and advice.

I travel back on Monday. I have hired a van and will be going through France, I have all the documents etc.
It will be quite an adventure.

I will be able to take my dog and all my things.

once again thank you all.

Bon Voyage here's hoping you and your doggies have a save and event free journey home.   Let us know when you arrive safely what you encounter on the way.

Good luck on your journey with your dog. We managed to fly back from Gibraltar on Monday after a long and stressful drive from Antas to Almeria, and then picking up another hire car to drive to Gibraltar. Roads not busy and no sign of any police or checks. Take plenty of food and water to minimise stops, but most petrol stations seemed to be open (and toilet facilities).  We had to stop twice to refill the hire car to take it back with a full tank.

If you go on gov.uk you will see travelling through France. There are only two forms needed. Plus channel tunnel booking and proof of address in U.K.

I like that my dog doesn’t have to go across on the ferry in those cages.

Take care
