Walking & things to do in playa Vera area

During the winter here, the weather is warm and sunny during the day but be prepared for chilly evenings.  I find February to be the coldest month. The houses here are built to keep cool and as they're usually tiled floors, they do get cold.  

I would advise, if you do decide to stay on for the winter, the property is south facing so that you make the most of the sun and warmth during the day.  Rugs are useful to add warmth to the tiled floors.  Using air con on heat setting can be expensive to run so ensure the property has some form of heating, ie  calor gas heaters or electric radiators or a fire.

I'm actually house/pet sitting in playa Vera in November so I'm trying to work out what to take with me (10kg only). Thanks for info & if can pass info onto me re your contact for rentals etc that would be great (for future reference at least). Also wanting to find out about local walks but so far haven't found any info?????

Oh, if you've only got 10kg allowance, you had better wear a lot of jumpers on the plane and a warm coat and scarf :o)

Weekly walks many based around Mojacar area although may need a car to get to the start points. No charge except for a 1 euro donation to charity.

I put a message up on Facebook re that walking group & got no reply. Plus I thought I read that person(s) in charge were giving up & was no more? 

I won't have a car only public transport & my 2 legs unfortunately! Plus has to be close to playa Vera as I'm pet sitting so don't want to be away too long from the animals!
