Nie number

Can I get my nie number from police station in lorca or do I have to go all the way to almeria. Or does anyone know of an easier way
Not sure really. Mine was done automatically by the lawyer when I was buying my house....

Do you need an NIE because you are planning to buy a property? If so I would suggest make contact with a lawyer early in the process, and they can help you get an NIE and set up a bank account if you haven't already. Our purchase would have been much easier if we had those set up before we offered.
