Hi

We have just agreed to buy a lovely property in Velez-Rubio. We are either being very brave or very stupid having never really been to Spain before this week and only now been to Vélez-Rubio twice. All being well we should be making the big move in around 8 weeks time and we are keen to integrate into the community as a whole. We are working on our Spanish but at the moment and for the foreseeable future it is very basic. We understand that there are free local Spanish lessons available, does anybody have any info on these? Is there any regular get-togethers that we could come to to introduce ourselves? Is there anybody out there that has done what we are doing and has any advice? Feeling excited and a little bit nervous about our move so any tips would be very gratefully received. Simon & caroline

Hi Simon and Caroline,

We moved here nearly one year ago. Seems as though we have always lived here. We absolutely love it. We feel it was the best move we ever made. There are quite a few get togethers, coffee mornings, lunches, walks etc. Unfortunately, we haven't really been involved with them as we have been renovating our home.

I go to the local Spanish school. It takes place twice a week. The teacher is great. You can probably enroll for September.
