Hi, can anyone recommend a plumber who is good / reasonably priced for finding water leaks in a house.  Water meter is continually spinning, water bill has doubled.

House is in the turre area.

Many thanks

first turn off all your water in the house to see if the meter stops then you'll know it is within your property.  if you have a long pipe from the meter to the house and can turn off in the house that can also track it down.  Take it you don't have a pool.  sometimes the toilet cistern can trickle fill if not sealed and that can cause a meter to run.

Hi, thanks for your email.  Ive tried that and the meter stops spinning straight away.   I've also tried turning off the water to the toilet as well , meter still spins.  We dont have a pool.

Try smith plumbing which is based in turre.  The family have been here for many years, Elliot is the 2nd generation and very good.  950468041. Linda his mother will probably speak to you.  I can highly recommend them.  Good luck.

Ring your insurance company ( if you have house insurance) we had a leak and after getting a plumber out, he  couldn’t  find it and suggested the insurance company. Not only did they fix the leak with no charge,  they also returned our €350 water bill. Worth a try
