Hello,

My husband and I are interested in moving to Turre and buying a property there. As you have lived there for 10 years, it must suit you well. Could you kindly give me a bit of information, good and bad, of the sort of things I should look out for before we buy? Many thanks

Hi Jenmelmar. Turre has everything you may need including banks (2) Supermarkets (5) Medical Centre, and various other businesses including cafe/bars, hairdressers and beauty salons so often you do not need to leave the village to have your needs met. Generally the Spanish people are very friendly and helpful. There is a fluctuating English community too and some Germans and Romanians, all a good mix of people. There are various properties available, but be careful that the buildings are fully legal. We bought our property through Linnets estate agents who went above and beyond what you would expect from an agent. They also have many rental properties, so perhaps you would consider renting for a while before committing to buy. This would give you a feel of the village and allow you to make an informed decision before you buy. On the down side I would caution you to choose your friends wisely and gradually get to know people as they really are. Hope this helps. Please feel free to ask anything else you may need.

I know Turre well as we have family living there.   It is very much a village and all but one of the supermarkets are really just small shops.  Besides the medical centre, there are 2 dentists, a physiotherapist, a vet and a chemist in the village.

A downside for some people might be the lack of public transport in the area.  It does exist but is not very frequent in Turre. Many of the new urbanisations are not beside amenities and you would certainly need to drive.  The properties near the centre are mainly flats or traditional terraced village houses.

Thank you so much for your advice, we will try to be sure before we buy! We are in Roquetas de Mar at the moment renting- but need to come to Turre a few times to get a feel for the place. Thanks for answering my query 😊

Thanks Sharon, it would be great to have Google co ordinates so we can see exactly where the property is, which is really helpful. Pictures and a price would be good. Have you lived in Turre yourself ?
