Almeria is approx 1 hr and 5 minutes, 

Corvera tho in the opposite direction north is approx the same.

Alicante from Huercal Overa is 2 hours but like Almeria is a straight shot north up the motorway, the problem with Taberno is It's a bit of a trek away from where you exit the motorway. You can get to Taberno thru Albox and/or Huercal Overa.
