Hi there, we bought a small house there last year and been out a few times over the past 6 months in the quiet winter season to do jobs and get it sorted. The village is very pretty and very quiet. Just a couple of little bars which I'm sure will be a lot more lively in the summer months, there is a restaurant but I think it only opens in the summer. Small shop and pharmacy, market day on a Sat or Sun morning. Communal pool open in summer. Very little English spoken by anybody but locals all very friendly.

Hi, we have lived in Somontin for 18 months now. Beautiful place with very friendly people. Quiet but on the fiestas they know how to party. As previously said very little English spoken. Not completely medieval we do have water, ele trinity and even TV and internet! 😁😁

Hi we have been here from February this year and found that the local people are very welcoming we bought our house off the same builder as the house you are looking at (Paco) and found out he Carn’t do enough for you. You can not go wrong buying one of his houses, as for tv we have more channels than back in the uk, All the best with your purchase and if you would like to meet up just drop me a line and I will gladly help you with anything I can.

Hi steve and ann, thanks for this, its all new to me, been looking for ages and don't want to live in a tourist area but want some neighbours and a social life. according to the agent there is a lot of interest in this property but I'm struggling to fit in a site visit! I'm kinda in love with it so tempted  to buy it! stupid I know?  how did you all find the buying process, I believe it adds around 11% to the purchase price? Is paco local by the way?

Yep my house purchase all went through within 4 weeks as I came out in September last year for 10 days and found the house, put a deposit down and left it all to the solicitor, they got me a NI no, a bank account, and house insurance etc and I just had to send over the money from the uk. All very easy, Paco then kept in touch with me and looked after the house until we came out in feb

Lovely house indeed. Best to visit though as area is very remote and as has been said very Spanish by way of conversation. We chose Turre as closer to coast and a lot more to do if you want. Good luck.
