Just bear in mind if you make yourself resident in Spain you are taxed on all your worldwide assets and you have to declare all your worldwide income.

Like I said in my original post. The taxation is not an issue. It purely a question about uk buy to let mortgages and if its possible to live in Spain and have a UK buy to let mortgage

All I can say is good luck, we moved to Spain 7 years ago and have never looked back, we have had oure ups and downs  it as been a learning curve because the Spanish do things so differentl to what we where used to in the Uk.

I was in the same position, and I just put down my daughters address in the uk, so then mortgage statements etc get sent there. I am not sure if it is technically legal, but as long as you dont default and they get their money, they will be non the wiser.

We have learnt that it’s better to be truthfull

because you know it’s not going to back fire, you never know what’s going to happen in the future

By chance, we recently spoke to our mortgage advisor about changing one of our UK BTL properties to a residential mortgage and then using that property as our UK base.

We haven't decided on whether to change residence yet and, although it's slightly different to your situation, his advice was very clear that we need to sort out all UK finances - sale of our main family home and the remortgage on our BTL - before taking up residence in Spain if that's what we decide.

He didn't mention any possible issues with our other BTL mortgage, although that's not to say there might be some. So perhaps not that much use to you, but possibly of some interest.
