What a strange comment, I don’t see what Spain changing, has to do with Mr Pollo closing. People still need to eat, a lot of people enjoyed the variety of food on offer.

I think Darrin may be referring to the fact that the Mr Pollo deli (and takeaway) was a popular go-to place in Mojacar Playa if you didn't wish to cook-in or go to a restaurant.
The food was excellent there and it didn't break the bank. You could bring even a bucket there and you'd get enough vino from the large wooden cask at reasonable price.
Yes the place had character, humour, excellent food etc. It will be missed even by the 'alf slogging, Lidl Gin drinking Brexiteers.

in 2000 when I first rocked up in Mojacar Mr Pollo and many bars and restaurants were always busy, but as more of the people that had recently purchased properties managed to get their sky tv and landlines/mobiles steadily began to stay in more, after all what bar can compete with corrie!
also more of the people realised that they were not on a constant holiday so stayed in more
then they closed the Indalo Appartments, less people coming,BUT the Spanish landlords kept putting the rents up for bars so they closed
and then shock horror they stopped the Irish Dancers at the Rover

Jazus! We're turning Mr Pollo into Mojacar's Most Famous Tourist Attraction. It was good though.
Glad we concluded the "Mr Pollo" mystery, I have to say that is a load of my mind and I can finally sleep....

MATT you really need to get over Brexit and stop bringing it into every subject along with the Panama hat brigade references

Thanks for that CranCrank, inspirational as always. Have no doubt, I'm over Brexit. But, the people who voted for Brexit and supported yer man Boris Johnson (Let's Get Brexit Done!) and even those who didn't vote in favour (including no-shows) haven't got over Brexit. Ask any member of the Democratic Unionist Party in Northern Ireland.
Brexit is done. Boris has been relieved of his post, well, eventually. The British people are now left with Brexit and the fallout from Brexit. The non British born-and-bred inhabitants of the UK feel less British. But, that is what most Brexiteers wanted - Wake Up!
And for the work in progress (reframing words used by Brexiteers), you ain't seen nothin' yet - I regret to say.

Good to see the old characters are still around.
