Hi

we are travelling to Mojacar in early March for a few weeks., i will be bringing my motorcycle on a trailer and  i have been warned that i may have to pay import duty at Santander, does anyone have any experience of this or any advice to offer to avoid this?

thanks in advance.

import duty would apply if you were leaving it in Spain but if you prove you are taking it back to UK should not be a problem.

When my bike travels back and forth to Spain for trackdays, the organisers need a Carnet. Everything has to be detailed and what goes in has to go out, including returning the worn out slicks!. I think the same will apply to a private transfer. The best people to speak too are the Birmingham Chamber of Commerce 0121 454 6171 they were extremely helpful when I queried coming out with tools and equipment to decorate our villa when it completes.
