Any idea if I can buy co-codamol over the counter anywhere? My dad's codeine has been destroyed, his Dr appointment isn't till Monday as he needs a prescription and he had enough to get by but now he doesn't and I know I won't be able to buy codeine over the counter but co-codamol might be enough to take the edge off for him for a couple of days.

I know you’ve asked for co-codamol, but ibuprofen is only slightly less powerful and indeed can be better for certain pains. Ibuprofen is freely available over the counter in 400mg but 60mg can be obtained at a couple of farmacy in the area.

Sorry, that should read 600mg but it’s fine to take more if needed. I think it’s 2400 per 24 hours. Check on the ‘intermegaweb’

You can buy a drug called Astefor which is Ibuprofen and Codeine over the counter without a prescription. 400mg/30mg.
They are pretty strong so be careful.

Hi , its just a passing thought but depending on your dad's age you should be careful with Ibuprofen as it can harm his liver as been told by my doctor , just thought i would say , hope it helps
