What would you lovely people advise on where to buy Mojacar or Garrucha,we are going to rent first,but is there anything we should avoid,?, we are aiming to stay during the winter months,so crowds won't really bother us, we need an ex-pat area, we like bowls and quizzes,not big drinkers,but need to be reasonably near to amenities,any advice would be most helpful......Thankyou Anne and Malcolm.

If you want an ex pat area then it's Mojacar I guess or even las Buganvilas on outskirts of Garrucha but Garrucha town is mainly a Spanish area but a lovely village. If you want bowls though you will have to travel towards Turre or camping Los Gallardos. I don't think there are bowls in Mojacar now unless la Mata has reopened. Hope this helps. If you are renting first you'll have plenty of time to look around and choose the area which most appeals.
There is a bowls club behind Hotel Marina Mar in Mojacar a very good one. A good place to try and rent would be Fueterma in Bougainvillea Garrucha. Good for shops nearby public transport if needed, close to the beach and good walking.
