Hi - I have received a property alert from a well known Mojacar estate agent with a property for sale on Playa Macenas. However, within the advert it states" soon to be reopened golf course".
Just wondering if anyone in the local area can confirm the current situation regarding Macenas Golf Course reopening or a sales ploy?

The Macenas development was purchased last year by the Cosentino family who are ploughing a lot of investment into the site including a hotel, reopening the golf course and completing the build of unfinished houses/apartments on the site, not sure exactly when the golf course will reopen though...
Melanie, You need to buy a property in the Macenas area like I need syphilis. "Alerts" are usually true, but how true? There is a difference between the truth and the full truth. If the property is where I think it is, you'll be isolated a lot.

Hi Peterlee4 - thank you for your reply. That is good news, investment to the area I see as positive and will give more options for those who want to play golf and hotel is a bonus.

Hi Matthew - you did make me giggle.... personally I am not interested in that area, it just happened to be on an email alert which I should turn off now as I have recently bought on Valle del Este (no comment please). It was just interesting to find out if the Macenas course was to be reopened and will give at least 5 course options within a 30 minute drive. I'm over end of June for 3 weeks so will be nice to have a look around to see what has been done since my last visit in September. Enjoy the Bank Holiday weekend and if you are in Ireland, hope it is sunny :-)

A footpath from Hotel Indalo Mojácar Playa out to Macenas if it ever came about would be a game changer.
