Just wondering if anyone knows the significance of the caged bird over or near the front door of a house, have tried to search the web but no info available, wondered if there was some religious significance.

Hi pete
If u are talking about the red legged partridge..theyre used during hunting season as a lure.
One bird is normaly kept in a small cage.
