Hi All 👋

We are travelling in April from Bilbao to Mojacar by car. Would like not to go down through Madrid, as coming home that way. What routes would you suggest please, and best place to stop half way.

Much Thanks

do you mean stopping off on route as you do not go through Madrid when you drive you go round it?

We have stopped in Burgos when we broke down and would recommend it to anyone as a place to visit we also broke down in Alberciete but wouldn't recommend that unless you like knifes.  It is full of them in all the shops.

Thank you Alicia 👋 We are coming off ferry around 2pm and just wondering about alternative routes, rather then main one down to Mojacar, and stopping somewhere on way.

Much thanks for your suggestions

Hi

Use A1 south of Burgos, skirt Madrid via A50 towards Murcia. Hotel  Mirasierra, Junction 99, aprox 3.5 hrs from Bilbao, excellent overnight stop, used for last 6 years

I'll second that, we have stayed there several times.  Clean and comfortable, and alongside the Autovia, very convenient for a stopover.

Hotel stop depends on ferry arrival/departure times.

The two hotels we use are Hotel Tudanca, Fuentaspina and Hotel Moya Honrubia. Soppng at these divides trip in to 3. Last time we drove we stopped at Hotel Moya on way down and Hotel Tudanca on return.

Hotel Tudanca is very, very good. . It is both 2 & 4 star with a good asador restaurant. Another plus is they also sell thier own wine, familly vinyard which is very good..

Both hotes are pet friendly.

Hoipe this helps
