Posting for a family member,
He came back to the UK in his Spanish reg car and someone crashed into it writing it off,
insurance has paid out and the car has been scrapped in the UK with the relevant document issued from the scrapyard,
the question is how does he notify ;traffico; that the car is no longer on the road and to de-register it from his name,he is not due back in Spain for a few months

l believe he will have to come back and baccara (not sure if that's how it's spelt) in person with the document from the scrap yard and until then he is liable for tax if some is due. This is done with traffico in Almeria not sure if it can be done by a representative.
