I am setting out for Dieppe on Saturday for DFDS sailing. Does anyone know if the non commercial aires are open in Spain and/or France?

From what I've seen/read, only commercial traffic is being ferried and certain ports are enforcing this.

DFDS are still running.

DFDS are operating for commercial traffic AND essential travel. I still need to know if the non commercial Aires are open.

Hi, unless you can contact DFDS directly to confirm one way or the other I can't do nor suggestany more than yourself really. Contacting the ports that DFDS use might also be an idea.

"Essential" travel may not include just "going home" if you had a base where you were living in the motor home.

Policia, Guardia Civil and even the army/foreign legion are stopping traffic trying to get on the motovia  asking if a journey is essential or where the driver is trying to get to, if in their minds it's not warranted they will turn us back around.

Even with a dog we are only allowed very limited distances to walk it/them, cars are being stopped on the way into town, policia are even checking car boots ! a neighbour was told off because he only had one bag of shopping !! Supposedly this is to stop shoppers going out every day for small amounts of shopping as opposed to a decent sized once a week shop and to a variety of stores.

Best of luck.

I’m not travelling to Spain, I’m travelling to the UK, my country of residence as advised by the British Government “get home as soon as possible”. Unfortunately, my booked ferry is not until 10th April and there was no chance of getting an earlier sailing.
