We understand that there is a "card" which would give those of us of pensionable age reduced fares on public transport and other benefits so we would be grateful for any info on how to obtain one, Thanks

I think this is what you are referring to. Available only to residents.

There is of course the Mojacar bus pass to use on the local yellow buses from Marina de la Torre to Indalo Hotel and up the village.  For that apply to the town hall with your TIE and proof of pension age. photo needed for pass.

In Roquetas you can get a bus card from local tobacconists.  You initially pay a deposit of €1.50 for each card, in some cases you need one per person, load it with around €10, and present this when you get on the bus,  the fare then only costs around 40 cents per person instead of €1.35.  When you get your bus ticket it then shows you the balance left on the card.  Not sure about other areas but worth a try,

Ok so I am staying at the Best Mojacar for 12 nights from tomorrow !
Any ideas on using the bus to get up to the town ?
how much per ride ? Pay in cash ? Need correct money ? Or do I need a pre pay ticket

How do I get a ticket, on the bus or in shops

Good service and does it run at night ?

many help greatly appreciated as always had a car before

sorry you did not get an answer to your question Yellow bus is local you pay by cash €1.20 per trip you can buy a card on the bus ask the driver I believe it costs €10 plus a fee for the card and can be used for 10 trips, the bus timetable is on the stops it doesn't run all night but every 30 minutes right along the Playa from Marina de la Torre (Garrucha end) and up the village coming back from the Indalo Hotel end.  You can stay on the bus for the whole journey for the same price.  From the Marina de la Torre you can walk into Garrucha on a Friday for the morning market.

You can also get the Alsa buses to Vera Playa and Vera town same price I believe worth a visit.
