Lubrin is a beautiful small village up in the mountains.  Very few English there, but very friendly and charming.

Oh I don’t live there - but I have friends who I visit there; it has a medical centre, a fabulous restaurant / bar and some shops - but it is not big and is pretty remote; for anything other than basic necessities, you’ll need to drive probably to Vera (Bedar is closer but still pretty small)

Hi,

Lubrin has 2 small supermarkets for basic needs, a bank with cashpoint, Pharmacy, butcher etc. and a couple of other shops.

I has 3 or 4 bars for food and they have a market every Wednesday that has fresh veg, bread, and the usual fashion stuff.

It has a municipal pool which is very pleasant in the summer and in the area there are enough Brits that come to the bars for food etc in the Area.

For bigger shopping there's Albox about 25 mins from Lubrin that has every shop you need and if you want to visit and stay in a hotel then contact Clayton at the Albar hotel about 10 mins from Lubrin https://enalbar.com/en/ he has a great boutique hotel and amazing restaurant.

You should contact Amanda's https://amandasremovals.com/ as she can help with removals etc. and can answer any questions about general living, and Jo https://www.olivehouse-es.com/ for property sales, she is amazing.

Any more questions, just ask.

Hi,  we actually live in Lubrin.

The village has 3 bars all serving good food and open 6 days of the week but because they have different days off, eating out is available 7 days a week. They are also busy so at weekends booking is advised.

There are 3 "Spar" type shops and another smaller shop. 2 bakers so fresh bread 6 days a week, 2 butchers, Wednesday Market for very good fruit and veg + a Fish van and another bread van, also cheese  cold meats and clothing  & footwear, etc stalls.

A van delivers and collects gas bottles on a Monday, a water tanker delivers fresh water on a Wednesday (so keep your big water bottles!) A fish van is on a Friday.

There is also Doctors Surgery and there is a gym, you can attend Spanish lessons in the church on a Wednesday and the Priest is very friendly. He is learning English so wants to engage.

For the weekly/fortnightly shop, Albox is 25-30 mins away with Mercadona, Lidl,  Dia etc. Lots of places to eat and a big (ish) market on a Saturday. We also shop in both Vera and Mojacar

There are also 3 good restaurants within 10 minutes drive.

I note that someone has posted that Librin is remote, well it is not a tourist resort and we like that. While we were having our place renovated, lived in both Vera Playa and Mojacar and are glad not to live there permanently as it is expensive relatively and very crowded in the Summer months. We are very happy to be here and do not find it remote, just out of the hustle and bustle you can get in the more touristy areas and that works for us.

Lubrin is approx 2000 ft up in the mountains behind Mojacar and very warm in the summer but you will get a couple of cold months in winter.

Lubrin, we think is a traditional Spanish village and it will be no surprise that Spanish is widely spoken so you will need to brush up on the language. However you will get by  either by getting some basic words and phases or Google translate. I estimate there are approx 30 brits in the area and a sprinkling of Dutch and Belgians.

You have already been provided with good contacts but there is also a little Airbnb hotel actually in the village run by David and Samantha so if you wanted to get a feel for the village over a few days, you could do worse.

Hope this helps
