Thanks, do you know what dates the bulk collections are , I don't want to leave them out too soon as they look so untidy if left any length of time. Thanks again.

You should have gone to a company who takes the old ones away for you.  Similarly if you buy new electrical appliances.  A lot less hassle.

Good on ya! Lyn. And you don't get too many compliments from me. I'm sure mattresses should be disposed of legally. Leaving them for collection by local authorities is against the law and cheapskating, not to mention polluting.

We're talking about mattresses here, not cardboard boxes.

I was under the impression bulk collection included mattresses and i object to being accused of cheap skating. If you cannot give a useful reply to a genuine enquiry then keep your opinions to yourself.

I post as best I can. I don't need a lesson on how to post. If you have to be informed that dumping mattresses in a public place is illegal there is not point in communicating with you. Most would have learnt this from around age 5.

Look at this in a different way. I probably saved you a fine from the Policía Local and from a lot of talk from your neighbours.

I think you may have missed the point, Matthew.  The ayuntamiento set a date once or twice a month when they ask you to leave large items of rubbish, including mattresses, next to the bins, and they go equipped to remove them.  That isn't dumping, it is taking advantage of the service offered for the safe and ecologically sound disposal of waste.  On Alicia's suggestion, Glynnson seems to be planning to check the date with his ayuntamiento so that he can do just that, so claiming to have saved him a fine from the Policia seems a little wide of the mark.
