PCR test to visit my husband in the hospital

My husband went in for a operation on Wednesday. I’d like to visit him but our translator seems to be going out of her way to put me off. She’s already told my husband that visiting is “frowned upon” I’m assuming because of COVID. She’s advised me no visiting unless I produce a PCR test… okay. Understandable. I asked her about the tent that gives the free PCR tests for visitors. She said only on Monday & better to go private! At 110-130€ we can’t afford that kind of money each time I visit. Does anyone know the protocol for obtaining a PCR test there? I’m assuming I can’t just rock up & say give me a free test please, I must need some kind of proof that my husband is in the hospital.
