We are having trouble finding anyone that can help can anyone recommend a solicitor that speaks English that can help or any way of
obtaining the N I E

You could try Mundi Abogados at Las Boganvillas, Maria and her team are excellent, we used them when buying our property, they set up everything...NIE, bank, utilities etc. and we used them for our Residencia and driving licenses.
