Hello All,

Would anyone in or near Los Lobos be able to provide some advice regarding internet providers in that area please.

I have a property there and hope to be over around 3 times a year for a month or so at a time. When I'm there I will need internet access to work from home during the week. I'm not too worried about having a service I can switch off when I'm not there, it is more important to me to have a reasonable speed and a reliable service.

I assume I can't have fibre in that area and it would be via an an antenna, but if anyone knows different please advise. Also what sort of minimum speed would you advise. I have been told Wimax are a good bet but it would be good to hear some other opinions.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Kind regards

Paul

Hi Paul

Los Lobos has fibre now, through Movistar (Bouganvilla roundabout) but you can organise from Wimax which might easier as they have good  spoken English if needed.

Hi Mark,

Thank you for you reply. That is good to know I can get fibre there now. I'll speak to Wimax later in my basic Spanish (I always like to give it a go and you normally pick a few new words up trying 😊) and then can swap to English if needed!

Have a good day

Paul

Hello Paul. We are on the mobile home park next to Los Lobos village and the majority of us have Instelnet, who have an office next to Mercadona in Cuevas. We have 10 mg with normally 4 devices using it and find it very satisfactory.

If you get Movistar at Los Lobos, you’ll be able to get Digimobil Fibre Optic, who are carried by Movistar.  They charge 30€ per month for a 1 GB/s service; high reliability and dedicated English service line.

I use Digi - I was at Valle del Este, had it installed there, tested at 930 Mbps down, 848 Mbps up.  So I got it for my shop in Vera as well.  Thrilled, awesome speed.

I then moved (4 days ago) to Vera Playa, was really pleased to see Digi coverage in my block (Movistar / Telefonica line in)

I signed (digitally) a new contract Wednesday, Telefonica came out Thursday and spent close to three hours running new Fibre optic from communications box to my apartment (third floor) - no charge - and Digi arrived Friday to plug in an set the sync up on the Optical Network Terminal.  I’m very VERY close to the beach here and right next to the naturista so at the “end of the line” so to speak; still tested at 648 Mbps down, 545 Mbps up … very very happy and I would happily encourage anyone to take Digi as a service.

Thank you Marion, it's good to get a few different opinions. I will have a look at each company and make a choice from there.

Kind Regards

Hiya,

I used Wimax in the end. It was very easy, they turned up when the said they would to install and it has worked perfectly so far. 30.25 a month. I'm getting about 70mbps.

Kind Regards
