I am really concerned that we have done totally the wrong thing coming to live in Spain

Cant get tie so cannot register our S1s so no health care..

I fought for my blue badge in the uk but it would appear I’m going to lose that at the end of the year here.

Can’t renew our driving licences without tie.

Just had enough. Think I’m going to call it a day, nothing worth staying here for

Hi Maggie, I'm sorry that things don't seem to be working out for you in Spain. You appear to be at your wits end and stuff is getting on your nerves. You're a brave lady to post the truth that everything is not as easy as one could expect.

I have advised others on other threads here that it is prudent to rent property before buying for no less than five weeks (much more is better) and during this time you learn the truth if Spain is for you.

I wish you well in any future choice you make.

Thank you Matthew.

We did move to Spain 2005 and lived here for 5 years. Returned to the uk in 2010. Circumstances at that time meant we couldn’t afford to stay. So as soon as we retired we decided to come back. In all honesty, it was much easier years ago to get the documentation you needed. But now, well what else can I say. I’m just about at the end of my tether. Sorry for moaning.

Thank you for your kind words, they mean a lot

Yes we did have residencia and paid taxes and everything legal. Unfortunately, we do still have copies of our rescidencia but unless we could show we were on a padron for the last 5 years (which obviously we can’t) then that is no use. I did hear from our Gestor last night and our applications were submitted on 9th October, so I’m feeling a little more optimistic than I was.

Hi MaggieP,

I am also going through the process and can appreciate how you are feeling.  We have just been for our fingerprinting.  It took around five weeks to hear that we were accepted after our online application was submitted.  Our gestor then made appointments for our fingerprinting.  We were given an appointment to return to collect our TIE card on 04 December.  Try not to worry too much.  You are now in the system so all should move forward from now on.  The most important thing is to be in the system by the end of the year.

We have just moved to Los Lobos. Feel free to send me a pm if you fancy meeting up for a chat.  Maggie.

Maggiep have you looked into getting a blue badge here in Spain? if entitled in the UK you should be able to get one here to take the place if the Brexit makes your UK one obsolete.

Hi MaggieP

I had a blue badge in the u.k. But that doesn't seem to count here, I applied for one and was turned down because I'm not 75% disabled, , I often wondered why all the blue disabled parking spaces was empty!!!!  Now I know why.   Hiacynth
