Hi Len what area of Almeria are you going to be staying in?

That depends on what we can get in a holiday package. Cain you recommend a resort close to Almeria city and airport? If we move to spain we would want to be close to a large city or town.

Hi Len! Hubby and I ( 71 yrs/o each ) have just bought in Almería, specially in Ciudad Jardín, Zapillo área. We pretty much do our own thing but don't mind mingling with other mature couples. We're US citizens so we spent most of our time in Spain but we do come to the US as well. Currently we're in the US , will return to Almería in May. Life is good & exciting & quality in Spain. We actually moved to Spain in 2016. It took an "Act of Congress"  to get our residency but we were resilient & finally got it! We're happy two, mining our own business & grateful we made the move in order to stretch our retirement dollar! It works for us. People here in the US ask us how we did it, well... we tell them it took courage & inspiration! We're so grateful we made the move. No regrets! If we can help at all, we will be returning to Spain in May. Right now we're  enjoying our home &  friends in Florida! I, Micaela, do speak Spanish. Hubby doesn't. Is it easy to get Almeria to US flights? Do you not get a lot of jetlag?

Oh well Len... We've done this since 2016! The saying if you don't use it you lose it is so truth! As soon as we both retired we started searching for affordable quality life . We found it in Spain. We first bought in Murcia ( Costa Cálida) Loved it & still do. But in Murcia we bought in a small beach town that "dies" in the winter. Oh well, we started looking for a place with everything in walking distance that stays active year-round. We stumbled in Almería by chance " The Journey's GPS" 

By using it or puting our thoughts into practice we've gained lots of courage/empowerment/no fear!  Therefore, jet lag & all we Keep moving forward without thinking much about anything. We simply just do it!

We fly to Madrid, spend one night in Madrid then Renfe train to Almería the next day!
