Hello all,

Question about residency please all information related really appreciated. We are due to arrive in Almanzora end of September we already have a house rental, we have our NIE numbers and a bank account, how long is it till I can apply for Pardon? or can we do it straight away. We will have the necessary funds to support us, I'm led to believe I can apply for residency after 3 months because we need bank statements showing money going through our account, so the earliest we can apply is December. Also is it best that we get a Gestor to help us or could we do the process ourselves.

Thank you all in advance.

Barry & Debs

PS. Any names of Gestor's will be great cheers !!

Hi Barry, I'm not in your area so don't have any personal recommendations. However, I arrived last week, and met with a gestor I had previously contacted from a recommendation on this forum.

She has arranged an appointment at the town hall next Tuesday for the padron, as this is needed for the residency application.

So the process is padron first, then the padron itself forms part of the documentation for the residency. My gestor assures me that I do not have to wait until I have already been here for 3 months before I can apply for residency, however there are lots of conflicting stories on different forums so who can really tell? I do know she processes many applications here in the Vera/Mojacar area so I will be guided by her for now.

The best of luck, and I hope someone will have a recommendation for you, personally as a new arrival with very limited Spanish and also limited time, I am very happy to pay a professional to negotiate the process on my behalf

Backing up Beannie1, I would strongly suggest someone to help you through the process - especially now.

Yes, Padrón first, and you can do that immediately you arrive and take up residency. It is a myth that you must wait 3 months - bearing in mind you are supposed to only be here 90 days without Residencia - so get a Padrón, get someone to help and by the time your appointment rolls around it’ll be close to three months anyway.

Can’t suggest anyone as my asesora is Spanish speaking and speaks no English

Dario is right. You need to apply for residency as soon as you can (TIE or Tarjeta Identificaion Extranjeros it is called now - Foreigner ID card - as the UK has left the UK so you apply as a third country outside the EU).

First get your padron from local town hall. Then go to a Gestor and make an electronic application for a TIE appointment. But do it by 31 December! The UK transition ends then and it will be hellishly difficult to do this afterwards.

Also, get a Spanish bank account!

Good Luck

Chris

Hi, we are buying a property in Sorbas province. Can anyone recommend a gestor to help us apply for Padron and then residencia. We have tried to phone town hall in Sorbas to find out if we need an appointment for the padron or do we just turn up? Unfortunately our Spanish is not yet good enough to understand the reply given(just too fast for us at the moment whilst we are still learning!! 😂

Any recommendations for someone to help us through this process quickly and efficiently would be most appreciated. 🤞
