Hi I am coming over to my home in Albanchez on Monday next week, flying into Almeria. My hubby is picking me up, and we were wondering if there has been any noticeable delays getting through passport control that anyone is aware off ? The media in the UK at the minute is saying delays particularly in Spain are pretty bad due to heightened controls? Many thanks Maz

It's certainly taking longer than usual, particularly if more than one flight load is going through as at best they only have 2 passport control desks working. They are entering more info so that takes longer and when we arrived on 26th July one of the computers wasn't working so for part of our group at the back of the line it took well over an hour. Best to assume at least half an hour to get through.

If you look at www.arboleas.co.uk under General Chatter/ Almeria airport, one member is noting a delay for the same reason as affected our family. 2 arrivals, 1 member of staff on Passport Control.

Having said that I find Manchester & Heathrow generally appalling.

Thanks Bob and Sandra , here's hoping it's not too awful, though weather in England has been awful looking forward to sunshine, it's worth the wait . 😀

Hi, cant give any definitive reply but going back to late May there were no problems.

Both Murcia and Almeria prior to any probs are almost blink n miss arrivals with two guys in a small kiosk who mainly just wave you through.

Havent experienced Alicante yet but will be soon.

We came through yesterday and there were 2 guys on passport control, we were last off the plane and it probably took us 15 minutes to get through in total.

Just to add, I arrived at Almería on 3rd August and didn't notice anything different from normal at passport control.

Yes it all seems back to normal. There was certainly no delay on the way back to the UK on Tuesday.
