Does anyone know of any good garages that will do a conversion (lights) on a LHD car from the UK in Albox? And how much it is to register a car. Thankyou

Hi, you say conversion of a lhd car (headlights)from the UK, do you mean rhd to lhd ?

If your car is already lhd you shouldnt need to convert them.

Some lhd  european vehicle headlights are switchable rhd to lhd and visversa. Partners were rhd and the lights alone were almost €500 each !!. Honda insight.

We're in the last throes of getting partners honda insight converted/metriculated onto Spanish plates and used "The Garage"  just outside Albox by the bowling alley on the poligono.

Theyre very good, english speaking and after doing the work, mainly the lhd headlamps but brakes and pre ITV as well, they checked the car over and even took it to Lorca testing station.

Costs vary vehicle to vehicle depending on cost/value of the vehicle, all reckoned up by the local town hall.

The Garage were recommended by CAT Services in La Foquia who can handle the paperwork for the car, number plates, as well as lots of other stuff.

Theres an english chippy just up the road from CAT Services too lol.

Hope that helps somewhat but no doubt others might fill in any blanks.

Be aware that paperwork takes time, nothing happens overnight lol and you may even need to do a bit of legwork yourselves.

Thankyou for your prompt reply, it's much appreciated. Well worth it if the chippy does mushy peas, lol. But once again thankyou for your advice which we've taken on board and will pursue further.

Kind regards,

Katrina and Steve

Best mushy peas in the area, (only mushy peas in the area) beer battered fish, no skin and theres a small bar round the back. Have fun. Opening times can be viewed by googling the english chippy.

Pleased to offer what we've learned, others whove been here longer obviously may know more/better.

Take care and welcome.
