For two and a half years my husband and myself have been living in the Canary Islands. In November we moved permanently to Vera Playa. We have all our paperwork up to date including telling ayuntamiento at Vera our new address for page on but do we have to go anywhere else to inform authorities of our new address please, like designated police station or anything as our green NIE cards still show Canary address. We have our Social Security numbers, medical cards etc showing new address but not an actual document for residencia. Information and help required please. Thanks.

Yes, to make your move complete you should go to extranjerïa in Almería. Bring than all the paperwork you used to apply for your residency in the canaries and the empadronamiento from where you were there also.

You will need to make an appointment online first though - they have recently installed a new automatic ticket-issuing computer and you must first input the reference number you are given when you book online.

There used to be an etranjero office in Vera town and they would book an appointment for you, might still be there it's ages since I went.  Ask at the town hall.

Really?  I'm surprised it is closed as there were alot of South amercans in the area when we were there, queuing.  Thank goodness we don't have to renew now.

Thank you for your answer.  To have a site in vera would have been very useful.
