Hi...i would be grateful for any advice on whether it is better to buy a funeral plan or whether to approach a funeral director directly at the time of a death...ie is one paying more for a plan for the sake of the security of knowing everything is arranged in advance?

Hi,

We have a Funeral Plan with Collyfer and are delighted. As well as monthly payments we get complimentary Travel Insurance and reduced fees at Private Medical Facilities. I'll ask her to post message on here.

Best Wishes,

Hi janisis, I can't see that I every replied to this post, which is very unusual for me. .. Just in case,  here's some details,  hope it helps. ..

There is a different between a plan and a policy,  there is also a big difference between a finance company and a funeral directors.

Here at Collyfer Funeral Directors, you are dealing with the funeral directors direct,  we are the one's that will look after you when the time comes.

You can take out funeral insurance if you are in good health and under 70, which is an insurance that covers your funeral from day 1, with no shortfall or end payment,  this also has a benefit of free travel insurance,  dental hygiene and lots more. .....

Or you can take a Plan.... we offer with or without a service, with an option of paying in instalments up to 5 years, however if the Person holding the plan passes away before the 5 years then the balance of required immediately.

there is always the 3rd option,  which is to not do anything and call us when the time comes,  but this could add to your already stressful time.

If you would like any more info please don't hesitate to call or email me and I'll be pleased to help.

Have a great day

Karen
