Hi  having been through all this as far as Ive found, as soon as you apply for the S1 it means you are now resident in Spain and the EHIC is no longer applicable. If you have a padron then go and register at the local medical centre. But hurry along your resident application.

Thanks will try that as someone else said you have to be residencia before you can register s1 but in the mean time you can use EHIC.  But worry as I will need to get medication. For my husband and I.
