Are there any electric charging points in the locality. If I were to bring an electric car to Spain are there any charge points enroute from Santander via Madrid ?

locally there are only 2 at Mojacar village garage (which we have never seen in action yet) and 2 at the Repsol garage in Antas as you go onto the motorway but again never seen n use yet.   At the garage on the motorway on the way to Almeria there is also a bank of points but they had cars parked up in front of them not charging so would be unable to be used.   as for the route down who knows if they are working or not even if you find them.   not sure that electric cars will ever be the norm for rural Spain ok in the cities but diesel is King here.

Vera swimming pool is currently being refurbished using full solar and adding Electric Vehicle charging points.  EV charging points will slowly start making their way into rural Spain - certainly along the highways and main roads.

I note that my Sygic app allows you to plot a route with EV charging points along the way - may be worth checking an app such as that or similar?

For information, whilst playing with my Iberdrola app, I discovered it shows a map of recharging points for cars; it opens in a separate app, called RecargaPública Iberdrola, but shows ALL charging points.  The screenshot I took shows charging points right through France and down into Spain.  The green dot has a number in it, that number indicates the number of charging points in that area.  As you expand the map, the green dot separates into yet more green dots as the points become localized.

If you are wanting to plan a route, I’d strongly suggest this app, as it does show that electric charging points throughout Spain are far far more prevalent than any of us on this thread suspected

I’ve always wondered what will happen when everyone gets an electric car. If you don’t have a personal charger on your driveway, will we have cables from every house across the pavements. What if you live in a row of terraces and can’t park anywhere near a charger, which is more often than not. Will there be cables dangling from hi-rise flats to the ground?
