Does anyone know if Its possible to drive a U.K. right hand drive car down to Spain to leave and use when we are here? We have secure in complex parking. What are the rules re brexit and what are the insurance, legal obligations?   Thanks for any thoughts on the matter.

you will have to change it to Spanish number plates change the headlights and have it ITVd.  Depending on the car how much that will cost you.  Insurance is not a problem but you will have to be here to carry out the annual problems of car tax and the ITV renewals.

I looked at doing this. It works out crazy expensive and you still have the grief of a RHD car on LHD roads.

Buy a Spanish registered car. They are more expensive, but a whole lot less grief.

If you can buy a car in the UK that is LHD but has not had the lights etc changed over that is one of the cheaper ways, pref a Spanish reg car(but beware of the pitfalls)

I think the tax on taking a car over is also expensive. Not 100%, but we are in very early stages of potential move over from U.K. and I’m sure I’ve read it’s not cost effective......having said that I’ve read so much on everything the past few months, you’ll need to check!
