Hi I am going to be staying in Vera Playa for 3 months in January. I want to explore other parts of Almeria, but I would prefer not to hire a car. Can you tell if the bus service is good to visit other locations please ?

local buses will be available from Vera Playa to Mojacar, Garrucha, Vera town. You can also access buses to Hercal Overa, Carboneras by using different bus services. To go further afield you may need a car.
You can get the bus to Vera from Vera Playa. From Vera Town you can get to either Almeria city bus station or Murcia.
Bit of messing changing buses I know, but we travelled from Murcia to Valencia for a few days break, and in a few weeks going to Malaga from Almeria. The buses are cheap and comfortable, and a change from driving.
