I just wanted to ask how easy it is to get a transfer from Almeria airport to Vera Playa and what buses are like if you
wanted to venture out to Mojacer, Garrucha and Dessert Springs. Are they regular and easy to use? How much is a
return journey roughly and do they run all the time or just certain times?

Getting a bus transfer from Almeria Airport to Vera Playa is very easy: have a look at the website for Exclusive Airport Shuttles who meet all the planes arriving and wait if the one you've booked is late. https://exclusiveairportshuttles.co.uk/
Baraza buses go every hour to/from Vera Playa down the coast to Mojacar for 3€. See http://autocaresbaraza.com/. There are also regular buses to Cuevas de Almanzora (en route is Desert Springs). I've never done it but it's just a few euros.
