Hi were moving to almeria from Sutton Coldfield West Midlands in the next 3 months. We have 3 cats and we'd like to bring them with us. We're told that Birmingham and almeria airport can't deal with pet transport. Can anyone advise how they dealt with the transport of.their pets when moving to spain please?
Hi
When i moved here i travelled with my cat, just the two of us and a driver called steve from easypet travel, on internet. They do drive pets down from anywhere in uk, takes couple of days if that, but i didnt want my cat travelling with others, hes an old house cat so not used to other animals or people, took us 2 days via tunnel and a stay in france in pet friendly hotel, cost me a fortune, but worth it for me n Tommy. Airlines were a big No for me, animals in hold etc. Best to read up on that before trying to fly pets in. There are other pet couriers on line, so look at all of them but this guy was great but like i said there was only me n Tom and it was very expensive doing it that way. That was about 5 years ago so dont know if they are still online, just google pet carriers and have a trawl and ring them up for a chat. Good luck with it anyway.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. I think you're right this is the way to go. I'd feel much safer to travel with them especially as one is very old and another suffers from separation anxiety. I've asked a highly recommended company for a quote, whose drivers are all ex police dog handlers with pet first aid skills and whose vehicles are all specially adapted for the purpose. Thanks again.

Hi guys, if you email the lovely Mark and Anita at the 5 bone pet hotel in Turre, they will know a good courier to recommend. I only wish I had used their guy but had already paid another by the time I received their recommendation, I will let you know who NOT to use if you send me a private message.
Best of luck, Polly
We plan on doing the same soon as we have 3 cats and have been told to look for Defra registered pet couriers. We were quoted about £400 per cat from a company we found online trans-pet.co.uk and they have a cattery in Alicante and will keep them there for upto 5 days until you’re settled into your new home and will drop them off to you.

Thanks Michelle. We dont want theme to be apart from us for long, so we'd rather travel with them directly door to door.

Hi karen
Hope you are managing to sort out your travel with your cats, just wanted to say that my cat Tommy was perfectly fine with travel, he was 10 years old when we moved here, he has to take tablet each day for waterworks and he suffers from anxiety, me being with him all the time was best for both of us, in fact he didnt have a whisker out of place by the time we got here, unlike me, i think he quite enjoyed our trip, we came from scotland as well so a long way to travel, but he was perfectly ok, the cage he was in would have held a siberian tiger so plenty of room for him. Just want to ease your worries by letting you know how my Tom was with travel, he was fine. Anything else you want to know or ask about our adventures just email, ok.

Hi Jenni, it's a company called cfourpaws.co.uk. they're not cheap by any stretch of the imagination and we don't have personal experience of the actual trip yet but they seem to tick all the boxes and travel via Eurotunnel rather than the longer route by ferry.
