Prívate prescription charges

A question, I am a resident here in Spain but have never worked here and do not have state healthcare, I have private healthcare that was a factor of my residency, this covers all medical appointments but not prescription charges . I am a UK tax payer and submit a Spanish tax return as the law requires annually. I have recently been diagnosed with a medical condition that requires medication costing €170 pm I cannot get help from the UK as they say I do not qualify , I am too young for the S1 I am 62 and I am not in receipt of a pension. Is there anyway I can get help? I suspect there are others in a similar position. Thank you.

I'd be interested if you can a response for this. My medication costs about 150 euros a month and in a similar situation to you. If you pay to join the Convenio Especial you still don't get a discount on medication. I haven't been able to find anything.
