Good morning, we have booked to return to ROQUETAS at the end of September, has anyone heard that the Spanish government are potentially planning a return to partial national lockdown with non essential flights being cancelled from 18th September , and reviews every 14 days ?

The Euro Weekly news published a story claiming another lockdown without anything to back it up.

Try this link for info, but I will say, nothing is written in stone anywhere in the world at the moment.

Hi pam5rick, Nobody can answer your question in full truth at the moment. But, many countries (incl Spain) are having difficulties with the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic and future partial "lock-downs" appear inevitable to me. Many of us can point the finger, talk about who and where etc. But, (just to reiterate) the potential is there, but I can't post anything concrete yet.

Apparently N332 on their site have confirmed there is at present no truth in the country going back into lockdown as stated in Euro weekly news. Whether the situation alters before then no one knows but they do not give facts based on newspaper reports.

Having looked around and watched quite a few different Spanish news channels it appears that ONLY the euro weekly have said this...

But as previously said, anything can happen, who knows!!

Can confirm that Jen Jen - only EWN carried this “story”.  The two sources started out as members of Congress of Deputies, by the end of the interview with the reporter they had become Government Ministers.  Obviously speaking to reporters of a low-grade weekly free sheet is good for promotion!!

Sarcasm (aimed at EWN) aside, there has been no other mention of it from either official or Spanish media sources and Spain isn’t given to giving 6 weeks notice .... how much notice did we get last time? Not even a day was it?

No idea what the landscape will look like in 6 weeks - a wee bit cooler at night would be welcome - but as others have said, there are no officially published plans to close Spain as from 18/9.  I’d suggest EWN were having a slow week and needed to invent some scare.

All very true!!

I don't recall getting much notice at all so certainly a six week heads up is just a little out of character I would say!!

Maybe your right Dario, slow week so felt the need to liven things up!! It keeps us on out toes though ;-)

Don't believe it,we live in almeria and have heard nothing of the sort!

So far we are NOT going back into lockdown but its still more than possible that we could( that being the whole country not just almeria) probably will start shutting it down bit by bit with little to no warning like last time...

Its all fun and games!!!

Not certain which “people” are saying this, but there is certainly as yet nothing official and no suggestion of any plan to do so.

As Jen Jen says, that could change at a moments notice, but as of now there is no official plan.  Disregard any rumours you hear.
