Hello from Liverpool (UK) to Roquetas De Mar - Page 2

I've had an account with Sabadell for about 8 years.  

For banking there's Sabadell and the rest. Pay €700 into your account each month and you've free banking including (if you wish) a credit card and atm card as well as all your standing orders and direct debit. They are very helpful with all aspects of opening and maintaining your account. 

They also offer services such as getting insurance for your house, private health or car - these are convenient, but you should compare rates available elsewhere by shopping around. 

I've never been charged for international transfers to anywhere in euro, sterling or US dollar areas.  These are easily done online.

The only fly in the ointment with Sabadell is they charge you when you use your atm card to withdraw money from a non-Sabadell bank or when you use your credit card to make a purchase outside the EU-Sterling-US area. There is just one branch in Roquetas del Mar. 

All banks, including Sabadell, hammer you when you use a credit card to withdraw cash from an atm. Expect to pay around €5 plus 3% per month on the outstanding amount.

There are associated banks (such as Unicaja) that don't charge you for cash withdrawals of at least €65 using your Sabadell card. This is what we do in the urbanisation as the Unicaja is in walking distance whereas the Roquetas branch is in the town centre.

I did find in summer 2019 that withdrawing €100 cash from a French ATM with my Sabadell card incurred a €4 fee. I guess that is just a fact of life if I want to withdraw cash outside Spain - or otherwise carry large sums of money. One of the advantages of the UK ATM system is getting free cash withdrawals.
