My dad is travelling to come and see me in Scotland on Wednesday 6th April. However he has no car and lives in Palomares. Can anyone suggest ways for him to get to the airport? Car Share, or does anyone know of anyone travelling for a flight that day?

This shuttle bus leaves daily for Alicante, early in the morning time. Pick up point can be selected on website. I don't think it picks up at Palomares but there is a stop at Consum supermarket in Vera Playa, collection at 6.35am. It's a swift and comfortable journey to Alicante, albeit you arrive early.
