Where are you moving from? UK? If so, what passports do you have?  If UK passports, your first step is to contact the Spanish consulate and find out exactly what they require for you to be able to migrate here.

Okey dokes, same as UK nationals (now) you are Third Country Nationals (i.e. not EU) so must apply through your Spanish Embassy or Consulate to migrate.

There are a few people on this site who have undergone the “new” method of moving to Spain (new for Brits, that is!!) and their experience may assist you - but I also know each Embassy or Consulate tends to have their own interpretations.  Running in your favour is that applying for a Visa to migrate to Spain from America is something those Embassies and Consulates have a handle on :-D

Very briefly, you will need to fill in a variety of forms, prove you have sufficient finance to migrate (around 27.000€ for primary applicant and around 6.000€ for each dependent) … UK consulates are allowing a mix of income / savings / property etc etc but I have no idea what your nearest Spanish Embassy or Consulate will require or permit - like I say, they all differ.

You will also need Police clearance checks as well as proof of Spanish compliant health insurance …

Your first step really is to contact your nearest Spanish consulate to find out what they require, and start getting the documentation required together.

If you are UK citizens you need to decide what sort of visa you can apply for, probably either ' golden' visa if you have 500 K to invest in property here or non- lucrative if you have the required funds to support yourselves without working.

Apply through the embassy to get all the details for your requirement many people on this site give good information. I would add that if you don’t know the area rent a property before you buy to make sure you know you’re in the right area for you. …. Don’t forget that you’ll need the correct Spanish driving licence.  Good luck
