Abbeygate Insurance.

Based in Spain, English insurance company, with app for smartphone.

In an emergency they always speak English. I insure two properties and a car with them. From years of experience, the Spanish Insurance companies are not that friendly in the event of a claim. When my Daughters car was written off by a young Spanish girl, they tried to blame my Daughter ( for being in the way, parked, whilst the Spanish girl was texting and rammed into her at 50km per hour) yes they both had the same well known Spanish Insurance Company.

It was only when I threatened them with court after employing a Lawyer, and told them we had 360 in car video that they agreed to pay my Daughters medical bill and replace the car.

You don't find out the prejudice until you try to claim, that's why we use an English company based in Spain, no problems.

Yes they are fully conversant with Spanish law and way of life. Their policies and terms and small print are all in English

When I changed my insurances the two different Spanish Insurance companies we were using deflated when they asked who I was transferring to and why.

Trust you will find thus info useful, regards

Hi

Cannot disagree with Rascalmate. We were with Abbeygate when we had a major burglary of 62,000 euros. They were a pleasure to deal with. Unfortunately for me they then imposed conditions I could not meet. In subsequent years I just found the application form too complicated. As they are underwritten by Lloyds of London the appeal process is excellent as opposed to Spanish Companies who patently believe Franco is alive and well. Allianz still owes me 1800€ from a claim as of Dec. 2016.

Brit Companies also offer all risks for your possessions/ valuables away from home.

Yes, would second Abbeygate but suggest you shop around but Rascalmate is correct. However, do any of really trust in the integrity of Insurance Companies?????

Best Wishes,

Bob and Sandra
