Hi! We have bought an apartment in Enix and have just returned after a month due to getting the kitchen installed and furnishing etc.The area is beautiful if you like mountain views and a quieter pace of life. The village of Enix has three bars, one of which is run by an English couple, all do tapas and there are two restaraunts in the winter which are typically Spanish, with two more open in Summer. There are two fiestas, one in July and one in August. If your apartement is the El Balcon developement( with the swimming pools), there are a good mix of British and Spanish owners,a lot of the spanish use them at the weekends but there are also full time occupants too.It takes 10 mins to walk  into Enix village and 15 mins drive down the mountain to Roquetas and Coast.I don't know about taxis as we drove all the time, you will need a car as there is one bus that goes from Enix to Roquetas, once a day,but it comes back after only and hour and a half in town!.There are loads of places to explore and the city of Almeria is lovely,I hope this has helped,Liane.

Hi Billy, yes that is El Balcon with the pools. There is one little village shop in Enix and fresh bread is delivered daily from their family bakery. For supermarkets you will find loads in Roquetas, the nearest is not far from the roundabout at the base of the turnoff for Enix. The communal fees are low,I think about £40 euro per month.I expect your agent will be Gordon,he is informative and as straight as an estate agent can be!. He will also advise you to use Lucas from Gecko solicitors in Mojacar as he is English, however,I would advise against as he never replies to questions and is very slow,we are not the only ones to experience this with him. There are solicitors in Roquetas that are English speaking,I have one recommended to me by another Brit who lives and works there,if you decide to buy,I will find the number for you.All in with the fees and kitchen and furniture it has cost us about 48,000 euro, any more advice just ask,Liane.

Hi! I don't think Callida homes are with Gordon but most are quite genuine. If you are buying it new from the bank,as a repossession, there are fees on top of the asking price of 35000 euro,6000 euro, this is non negotiable. If it is a resale with the kitchen installed and light fittings etc this could add at least another 3-4000 euro. There is a caretaker on site called joaciem,he will also quote you for cleaning and redecorating, even kitchen installation etc but we found him expensive, shop around.

The largest supermarkets in Roquetas are Carrefour and Eroski, there is also a lidl and a Dia.The bricomart is the spanish branch of B n Q,and Leroy Merlin is more like Our BnQ and home base etc.We had our kitchen through Leroy Merlin and they were brilliant.Liane.

evening liane

visit to el balcon went well, gordon could not make it as his daughter had to go to hospital so he sent his colleague and his son gordon. the apts are as good as they look on the pics and how nice are the village and views. currently in the process of reserving A8 on the ground floor of the lower level. as the only upper floor available was B1 which was looking at a wall and the road.

did you use a notary in this country or spain as paul who we seen seemed to think there was one in liverpool we could use.

hopefully all goes well and and we can get back and get it fitted out. approx how long did the process take yourselves.

thanks

billy

Hi Billy, there are another two apartments for sale, one is a private sale I think, which is situated on the lower block on the top level,so should have a nice view, the other is on the top block which have the best views,we were annoyed at seeing these as we would have bought them instead of the b3.I am going over end of June,I could get the number of the private sale if your interested. We used a notaire in Spain, close to where we were staying in Murcia,I don't know of one in England,I thought you had to register in Spain. The buying process took about three months due to the very slow solicitor,Lucas at gecko legal services in Mojacar.I will find the number of the solicitor in roquetas recommended by Sharon.
