"Nothing wrong with purchase" ?? Theres everything wrong with the purchase if the solicitor and agent have buggered off leaving you to sort out your utilities !!?

Whether the solicitor and agent have gone to ground or not they should be traceable/trackable, throw a post open and threaten to name and shame them, lack of any future business should bring them out from under their rocks.

To get water on you need a Habitation Licence. Or a Second Habitation Licence if you have bought a used home.

Without this licence from the Town Hall you will NOT get water installed.

Without this Licence you are not legally entitled to live in your home.

If you do not have this licence get down to your Town Hall immediately.

I had this problem but found the Town Hall very sympathetic. They told me to report the Solicitor (Abogado) to The Collegio of Abogados Almeria.

You can check if your Solicitor is legal by accessing the Colleges website.

If he is not registered he faces Jail. However for what he has done to you, the way he has treated you, he needs punishment.

Getting water & Electricity installed is relatively easy. You can check the paperwork requirements on the respective websites. Its not too difficult.

Also there are plenty of legal company's advertising in the papers that for a small fee will do all this for you. Probably may be some in your area, and takes the hassle away from you.
